I would like to introduce you to an interactive assembly with a new motivational message. I perform a show called "The Three R’s". Respect, Responsibility and Rock n’ Roll. I also perform a "Country Hoe-Down" with the same message.

This program shows students the importance of having Respect and Responsibility. The format is unique because it is wrapped around a music theme where the students are actively involved.

I stress that everybody is different and we should respect the difference in each other as well as the differences in ourselves. I tell the students I took responsibility for my own actions growing up through school. I was faced with many choices, like school, drugs and alcohol.

As a college graduate, I am living my Dream.... singing and making a positive impact on the students lives I touch. I tell students, by staying in school and saying "No to Drugs" my dreams came true.......and theirs can too. (Please refer to the message).

The students learn about the beginning of rock n’ roll while they are dancing, playing the guitars, tambourines, wearing Elvis shades and singing into the microphone. Rock n’ Roll scarves and prizes are given away to selected students. Every student will receive a FREE 8" x 10" photo with a special message from "The Three R’s" presentation.

At the middle school level, volunteers also participate in a hoola hoop, inflatable guitar and twist contests. (Please refer to program, recommendations, and music demonstration Down Load.

I have performed for more than seven hundred schools across the United States, from Tennessee to Washington. I have worked with several anti-drug organizations including "DARE" and "JUST SAY NO CLUB". My program also has fit into many "School Themes" such as "Character Counts" and "Red Ribbon Week". Based on the feedback I receive from students, teachers, principals and parents; I am making a positive impact on the students who attend my show.

Put on your bobby socks and roll up your old blue jeans. Get ready to learn what Rock n’ Roll really means.

This one hour show is designed for Elementary and Junior High Schools. The goal of this show is to inform students about respect and responsibility, through an educational music presentation. Through dramatization Joel also stresses that dreams and drugs don’t mix. Respect, Responsibility and staying away from drugs will play a major role in making your dreams come true.

  • The Music
    1. Positive rock n’ roll songs are selected from the 1950's and early 60's. This high energy show is designed to educate students on the history of Rock n’ Roll music, wrapped around Respect, Responsibility and Roping Your Dreams.
    2. Rockin’ Country is a mix of your favorite old and new country songs. It has the same theme: Respect, Responsibility and Roping Your Dreams.
    3. Both shows have the excitement of a concert atmosphere with impersonations and costumes. The background instrumental music tracks are professionally produced with Joel providing the live vocals.
  • Participation - Students are an active part of both shows.
    1. Students sing-a-long with songs.
    2. Twenty volunteer students are selected to play rubber guitars, tambourines and participate in dance steps throughout the show.
    3. Joel asks students and teachers to sing along with him during musical skits.
    4. Joel goes into the audience and sings to selected students.
    5. Joel gives away Rock n" Roll scarves or Country bandannas to selected students.
    6. All students receive an autographed picture with a positive message on in and a take home flyer for their parents. The take home flyer informs parents about the message their children received.
    7. Three teachers are selected to sing "Summer Time Blues" and play rubber guitars. Students enjoy seeing their teachers having fun.
    8. Contests such as Hoola Hoop, The Twist and Guitar playing for the Junior High Level with 1950's Rock n’ Roll music cassettes and T-Shirts given away as prizes.
    9. Joel has the students actively participate when he is giving his message. This keeps their attention. Example: students share their dreams over the microphone in front of their class mates.

    3. Treat people the way you want to be treated and respect them for who they are.
  • Responsibility (second segment)
    1. Joel shares choices he was faced with during his school years and how the decisions he made helped him achieve his goal of becoming a college graduate, song writer and entertainer.
  • The importance of staying in school
    1. School will help you find your dreams. Your continued education gives you the skills to find and develop your special talents.
    2. Choices and fitting in. Joel shares life experiences illustrating that dreams and drugs don’t mix.
      • How he said no to drug.
      • You are responsible for your own actions.
      • The decisions you make today will decide what you become tomorrow.
