To Whom It May Concern: It is my pleasure to write this letter of reference for Joel Brantley. He was invited by our Drug and Alcohol Counselor as part of our school-wide effort to raise student awareness. Joel came to University High School highly recommended and lived up to all of our expectations. Joel s hour-long program of music and message captivated our 1200 students. His ability to actively engage the students, entertain, and then deliver a powerful message made this an extremely worthwhile experience. Joel captured student attention with a rock and roll program that was entertaining and very well done. He used the music as a foundation for talking about drug and alcohol issues. His message was powerfully delivered and absolutely clear. U-High students responded very positively and it was obvious the message hit its mark. Many students stayed after the assembly to talk with Mr. Brantley. Mr. Brantley creates an extremely fun and enthusiastic environment that promotes all student participation. His enthusiasm is contagious. Staff and students participated throughout the assembly. His presentation continually moved students from having fun and feeling good to reflecting on their choices and decision making. Joel Brantley s program is extremely worthwhile. Students and staff leave feeling good, believing the time was well spent, and seriously thinking about the impact of drugs and alcohol on our lives.
